2 Year Old Classroom Teachers

Lisa has resided in Augusta County for many generations. She is married to her husband Robbie. They have 2 beautiful girls, that keep them BUSY! She enjoys travel and photography. She is a member of Waynesboro Mennonite Church, and especially enjoys the children’s outreach missions, Kids Club. She has many years working and teaching preschool age children. She is excited to start another great year of learning and growth here at FUMC!

Channa is a mother to 3 children and has lived most of her life in Augusta County. She loves to watch her children grow and learn new things. Her favorite things to do in her free time is sewing and crafting. She began working with children in 2006 as a paraprofessional for Fredericksburg City Schools. Since then she has worked in the child care center for the YMCA of Fullerton, CA and has been a substitute teacher for Augusta County Schools.
3 Year Old Classroom Teachers

Ashley has been a teacher at FUMC child development center since August 2008, working with children ages 2 to 4. She holds a highest honors diploma from Strafford Institute in Early Childhood Education. Ashley is also trained in the Blueprint Curriculum and 123 Read program. Ashley grew up in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley in the town of Woodstock. Before joining the FUMC team she worked for J & B Valley Stores where she was employed for seven years becoming the G.M. for this company. After marrying her husband Ron and moving to Augusta County in 2003, they welcomed a blessing, Mckenzie. Ashley enjoys crafting, reading, bargain shopping and working in the FUMC nursery in her spare time. She looks forward to another exciting year, nurturing your child’s love for learning!

Hello everyone this is Veronica Ferguson. She will be Mrs. Ashley’s assistant. Veronica went to Riverheads high school. She also went to Blue Ridge community college. Veronica loves to hike and rescue small animals and loves working with children.

Vicki has worked at FUMC Child Development Center since 2010. During that time she has worked with children ages 2-4. She loves working with children and have thoroughly enjoyed watching her students learn and grow each year. She is originally from Indiana, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Indiana. She and her husband relocated to this area in 1999, by his employer. She started working with children in 2000 at the FUMC church nursery on Sunday mornings. Years of that led her to the public school system, where she worked as an Instructional Assistant in a Preschool classroom. While there, she received extensive training and continuing education each month. She is also certified in Blueprint Curriculum training. She was thrilled, when years later she ended up back at FUMC Child Development Center. She and her family keep very busy with different sports and activities throughout the year. She feels very blessed!

Grace is a recent graduate from Longwood University. She knew long before college that she wanted to work with children to pass along her love of knowledge. After college, she moved from Madison County to be here in Augusta. She loves plants and has more than 30 succulents.
Pre-K Classroom Teachers

Susan has a BS in Secondary Education from the University of Tennessee, with elementary certification from East Tennessee State University. Her career began as an elementary and middle school teacher while living in
Atlanta GA. While living in Virginia she has worked as a preschool teacher at Westminster Preschool and presently FUMC Child Development Center as a Pre-K teacher. Susan has been certified for many years to teach Blueprint Curriculum. She has 2 grown children named Emily and Jeffery. She is an active member of Fishersville United Methodist Church.

Mary Beth was born in Waynesboro, Va. She has resided in Augusta County her whole life. She is married with two beautiful children. She graduated from Wilson Memorial High School, Blue Ridge
Community College and attended Colorado State University. She also has been certified to teach the Blueprint curriculum we currently use here at FUMC. She is a member of Tinkling Spring Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies include horseback riding, fishing and her children’s sports.

Jody is originally from Pennsylvania. She relocated to Waynesboro in 2009 with her family. She graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a Bachelor’s Degree. Jody was a Navy Wife for 7 years; in that time she and her husband were stationed in Norfolk and Oahu, HI. She has worked as the Director of Social Services in various nursing/rehabilitation facilities. Prior to starting at FUMC Child Development Center she was a stay at home mom to her two amazing sons and her beautiful daughter. Jody has been the Lead After School Teacher, The Lead Summer Camp Counselor and the Summer Camp Curriculum Coordinator while here at FUMC. Jody is certified to teach Blueprint Curriculum. She is also a member of the Principal Advisory Committee at Wilson Middle School. She is the Treasurer for Valley Venom 13 travel ball team, and is the Team Mom for her sons’ baseball teams.

Michelle was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley. She is a graduate of Fort Defiance High School and is married to her husband Nick. They have three children, Nya, Jayden and Aubree. Michelle has been working with children since she was ten years old. She has worked at HoneyTree and other childcare programs. Before working with us she worked in pediatrics as a nursing assistant. Michelle loves her family and being involved in their sports and activities, especially cheer and baseball!

Nicole is a Teaching Assistant in the Preschool. She is from Middlefield, Ohio. In Ohioshe worked for Job & Family Services for 16 years before relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina for 2 years. She and her family moved here about 7 years ago. She is the mother of 4 children. She enjoys being around children and helping them get ready for Kindergarten.

Jennifer grew up in West Virginia and moved to Stuarts Draft, VA in 2014. She graduated from Mountain State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree, and has been a stay at home mom until working at FUMC. She is married to her husband Derrick, and together they have two beautiful children. She really enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, baking, and bargain shopping.
After School Care Staff

Kelsea graduated from Riverheads High School in 2018. She now attends Piedmont Virginia Communty College to obtain her Associates degree in Education and plans to transfer. This is her second year being an after school teacher with Child Development Center. She loves to learn and her students teach her something new every day. She enjoys being outdoors, serving Christ, and being a dog mom to her dogs, Dak and Pepper.

Terri lives in Fishersville, VA and is married and has 2 children and 6 grandchildren that are all girls. Ms. Terri has been watching children most of her life and cannot wait to see how much you all will learn and grow this year!

Grace recently graduated from Wilson Memorial high school. She is attending Blue Ridge community college in the transfer program to James Madison University. She is working hard towards her degree in Elementary Education. Grace has always had a passion for teaching ever since she was in first grade. She has been a camp counselor for the past five years for Augusta County 4H, and she has done many internships at local elementary schools, including Hugh K. Cassell and Wilson Elementary. Some of her hobbies include photography, traveling, and DIY projects. Grace is super excited to meet all of your amazing little ones and cannot wait to watch them grow a love for learning.
